The first SJCB shop, opened 2009.
This cozy space changed from a dirty old book shop on a vacant strip, to a community hub almost over night. It's a small place with big charm, a few seats, and a regular cast of characters from the neighbourhood.
Nearby students, cyclists, and coffee lovers make this their destination.
Serving our own coffee roasted locally, our menu is a simple list of espresso drinks, filter coffee, and retail beans by the bag, with pastries by Mabel's & Tori's Bakeshop.
This is home base, and the DNA of Sam James Coffee Bar.
