Boil water for the brewing. Pour a little into the thermos (or other serving jug) to preheat it.

Weigh & Grind
Weigh and grind 32 g of coffee beans as coarse as granular sugar, slightly coarser than for filter coffee.

Add coffee
Pour the coffee into the French press and place on the scale.

Pour Water
Start the timer and pour 500 g of water over the coffee, making sure all coffee gets wet.

Let Brew
Let brew for 4 minutes without a lid.

Stir
To end the brewing, stir the coffee and break the crema. The cream will then go from dark to lighter brown. Stir all the way down to the bottom three times.

Remove Crema
Using a tablespoon, carefully remove the crema and discard it. The crema contains fats from the coffee and holds many of the bitter flavours that you do not want present in your cup.

Press
Put on the lid, and press the filter down evenly and slowly.

Serve
Pour your coffee into your preheated vessel or straight into your cup.
