Nariño is a southwestern department of Colombia bordered by Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. The volcanic soil from the Andes gives this region a strong agricultural sector. The Andean highlands have ideal coffee growing condition, whereas the Pacific lowlands' main crop is banana.
This coffee is sourced from Yorgeny Torres at Finca La Casa in La Union, Nariño. Finca La Casa is a part of Finca La Indonesia, a Torres family inheritance known for exceptional coffee production for over 40 years. Yorgeny’s older brother, Frank, is already a world-renowned producer. He is helping her with her planting and processing while she starts her own dedicated coffee plantation.
The resulting cup reminds us of toffee, apple and orange.
