The Guji zone is a southern region of Ethiopia famous for its fruit-forward coffees. The ample rainfall and steep mountainous terrain create ideal growing conditions for the vast array of producers in the region.
This coffee is sourced from the Hana Asrat Washing Station in Uraga region of Guji. Founded by Fekadu Jebril in 2010 and named after his wife, the washing station is located in Yabitu Koba / Harsu forest near Tibe Haro district. More than 500 small holders from the surrounding area bring their ripe cherries there for processing. Most of them produce coffee in gardens averaging 0.5 to 2 hectares around their homes.
The washed process gives notes of apricot, rose and bergamot to this coffee.
