Valle Del Cauca is a department of Western Colombia that abuts the Pacific Ocean. The region is well known for both its coffee and its sugar. The sugar cane grows in the valleys, while coffee grows in the mountains.
This coffee is sourced from Finca Potosi, one of four farms part of the Café Granja La Esperanza Estate in Trujillo, Valle Del Cauca. The owners, Rigoberto and Luis Eduardo Herrera, come from a long-standing coffee producing family. They are third generation coffee producers, with their grandparents starting in coffee in 1945. The Herrera brothers are known for their growing & processing innovations, and their coffees are highly sought after.
The resulting cup reminds us of cacao, caramel & molasses.
