Comayagua is a department in central Honduras. It is mainly known for its gold, copper, and silver mining sector. The department is surrounded by a mountainous system, including the Mountains of Montecillos.
This coffee is sourced from Audon Ramirez at Finca La Peñona in Segualpa, Comayagua. Audon is the eldest member of the Ramirez family. Together with his brother Antonio, they began coffee production in the 1980s, caring for the first plants found on their land, which was limited to Typica and Bourbon due to the harsh climate. This initiative was shared with his family, as well as his descendants, such as Jose Antonio, Rieniel and Walter.
The resulting cup reminds us of cashew, fudge and marshmallow.
