Kossa Geshe is located in the Limmu Kossa district in western Ethiopia, within the mountains of the Kebena forest. This 1000-hectare farm was established in 2009 as a land concession from the Ethiopian Investment Agency to protect one of the last remaining dense forests in the country. Abdulwahid Sherif runs the show. His first harvest took place in 2016 and Crop to Cup, our import partner, was captivated from day one by Abdul's coffee attributes and quality and has been purchasing their entire production since. Just two years after Kossa Geshe's first harvest, Abdul received a Good Food Award for one of their coffees. It was one of the first coffees from western Ethiopia to receive this recognition and truly compete with the excellent natural coffees from the Sidamo and Yirgacheffe regions. Abdul maintains a constant focus on quality and reinvests in their facilities and equipment to continually improve. He is also very attentive to Crop to Cup's recommendations for enhancing his practices and working conditions for his workers. Abdul is a true man of action, and we are very excited to offer you one of his coffees.
