Kossa Geshe

The Jimma zone in the Oromia region of Ethiopia is one of the top three coffee producing regions in the country. Growing conditions are ideal since coffee crops are protected by the forest and rainforest that cover most of the area.

This coffee is sourced from the Kossa Geshe farm in Limmu Kossa, Jimma. This 1,000 hectare farm was established in 2009 as a land grant from Ethiopia's investment agency to safeguard some of the last remaining dense forest in the country. It is run by Abdulwahid Sherif. Committed to improving coffee quality & worker conditions, in the last few years Abdul has built two new dorm buildings, three new worker kitchens, bathrooms, hand washing stations, a kindergarden & a 75,000 square meter drying patio. This is the first Ethiopian decaf coffee we have purchased.

The resulting cup reminds us of strawberry, grape and cherry.
