Huila is a southwestern department of Colombia. It is the country's biggest coffee producer, even though it is mostly composed of small farms. The secret behind their productivity is that the farms all have their small micro beneficio, or processing station.
This coffee is sourced from Freddy Cordoba and his farm El Diviso in Acevedo, Huila. His passion for coffee was handed down to him by his father. He has been producing specialty grade coffee for three years now.
This microlot is strictly made up of Pink Bourbon, a specific cultivar of the Bourbon family. It is highly sought after for its delicate yet complex taste profile. That being said, it is fairly vulnerable to diseases like coffee leaf rust, which means it requires a lot of upkeep.
The honey process gives this coffee notes of tropical fruits, caramel and berries.
