Finca La Virgen is a family-run farm in Pueblo Nuevo, northwestern Nicaragua. The whole farm was abandoned by the previous owner and was purchased by the Gonzalez family in 1996. Since the existing crops were of questionable quality, the family spent nearly a decade working on new coffee nurseries to salvage the land.
This coffee was sourced from the El Eden micro-lot, a small 6 acre plot of land within Finca La Virgen. It was gifted to Lester Gonzalez by his mother and has since become his passion project. It has enabled him to experiment and evolve as a producer of specialty coffee. His coffees have even taken him to Cup of Excellence competitions on numerous occasions.
