Desta Gola

Yirgacheffe is part of the Sidamo region in Ethiopia; however it's considered its own recognized micro-region due to the unique coffee profile produced on its territory. The Yirgacheffe region is known to have thick vegetation, healthy soil, and high elevations.

This coffee is sourced from Desta Gola in Yirgacheffe. His cherries were processed as a separate micro-lot at the Adame Garbota Cooperative, where Desta is a member. He started cultivating coffee on his nine acre farm in 2013. Desta is now 49 years old and coffee is the main source of income for his wife and his nine children.

The resulting cup reminds us of chocolate, cocoa nibs, and maple syrup.
