Chinchiquilla

Cajamarca is a northern department of Peru that is part of the Andes Mountain Range and has a portion of its territory in the Amazon Rainforest. It also shares a border with Ecuador.

This coffee is sourced from 13 farmers in San Ignacio, Cajamarca. Along the highlands of the municipality of San Ignacio is a protected humid mountain cloud forest called “Bosques el Chaupe, Cunía y Chinchiquilla.”. This area was established just recently in 2019, is the first protected area in Cajamarca, and protects more than 54,000 acres within one of the most renowned hotspots for biodiversity on the planet. This region is known for having constant rainfall during the year, which allows producers to farm in an ideal climate to produce amazing coffee.

The result is a coffee with notes of caramelized pepper, dark chocolate and panela.
