Cerrado Mineiro is a large and predominantly flat region in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil. According to The Cerrado Coffee Growers Federation (CCGF), this region accounts for 12.7% of Brazil’s annual production. Coffees from this region produce unique characteristics that cannot be found anywhere else, and are thus protected by a Designation of Origin status
This coffee is sourced from Ana & Lucio Velloso, third generation producers in the Cerrado Mineiro region. They own and operate the São Luiz Estate that acts as a production hub for several farms in the area. This particular lot comes from the Santa Cecilia farm in the municipality of Carmo do Paranaiba, where one-third of the land serves as a natural reserve for native flora.
