Region: Shakiso, Oromia, Ethiopia
Varietal: Ethiopian Heirloom
Altitude: 1910-2010 MASL
Process: Natural
Roast Profile: Light
Flavour: This is one of our favorite naturally processed Ethiopian coffees yet. Complex, floral and fruity with a milk chocolate backbone. We love this as a light roast, with notes of elderflower liqueur, lavender, blackberry and blueberry.
Ethiopia Guji Natural comes from Zelealem Eshetu, a family-owned green coffee grower, wet mill, dry mill and export company based in Addis Ababa. The company owns and operates three coffee washing stations and one dry mill located in the Sidamo region and the Guji zone at Uddo Shakiso Woreda. Zelealem Eshetu has a coffee farm in the Shakiso Woreda and also works closely with smallholders. The fact that the family owns farms and mills allows them to control quality and explore innovative processing techniques. Harvest in the Guji
zone generally takes 4 to 5 months. With its moderate temperature, good rainfall and rich, red soil coffee farmers enjoy ideal growing conditions.
Roasted on a zero-emissions Bellwether.
Find this coffee at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market, 10305 - 97 Street, Saturday 9-3, Sunday 11-3, or order online.
